This article examines the two-dimensional nonlinear potential problem about motions of the ship in finite-depth water on quartering waves. Second-order amplitudes of swaying, heaving, rolling, pitching and yawing of a ship are determined. Those amplitudes are generated by the influence of nonlinear forces of second-order acting on different ships. The investigation of the influence of the alteration of water-depht on the amplitudes of different motions is given. The considerable influence of nonlinear forces in the areas of superharmonic resonances of heav roll and pitch modes of ship motions generated by the decrease of depth is shown.

The article discusses issues related to the practical application of tacheometers in shipbuilding. Depending on the measurement process of tacheometer (method of determining the basic coordinate system and object coordinate system for flat sections of the ship and the principle of recalculation between them) control methods are set up to inspect the positions of the flat sections of the ship in space. Because of this principle, a prospect of software creation is being opened in order to reduce labour intensity during execution of control measurements in shipbuilding.

The real scatterers have a non–analytical form and, therefore, the variable separation method (Fourier series method) for calculation of the reflected sound field cannot be applied to them. This article presents the method of Green’s functions for the solution of the problem of sound diffraction on bodies of a non–analytical surface. Furthermore, this work includes the detailed analysis of the solution of this problem and calculation of the angular characteristics of the sound scattering by non-analytical scatterers.

In the first part of the article on the basis of the reciprocity theorem are studied internal (for a cylindrical tunnel) and external (for a spheroidal shell) tasks of radiation of a sound by the elastic bodies, exciting by the harmonic point source, imitating turbulent pulsation of a flow of a liquid. The angular characteristics of radiation of a hollow spheroidal shell at the various wave sizes and at the various situations of a source are calculated.
In the second part of the article the characteristic equations of the axial three-dimensional flexural waves in the hollow cylindrical shell and cylindrical bar are received with the help of Debye’s potentials. The phase velocities of the various forms of these waves for steel and aluminium shells of various thickness and for cylindrical bar are calculated.
Key words: cylindrical and spheroidal shells, turbulent pulsations, boundary conditions, phase velocities of the elastic waves, the angular characteristics of radiation.

The paper is devoted to the research results of maritime objects dynamics on the basis of modern catastrophe theory in on-board intelligence systems of new generations. It is shown that periodic forced effect can be described by trajectories surrounding Hopf bifurcation. The resulting sensitivity law is similar to the cusp catastrophe behavior. The similarity with the static bifurcation allows using standard diagrams and formulas to the dynamic bifurcation.

The paper is devoted to the research results of chaotic dynamics of non-stationary object in complex dynamic environment. An analysis is carried out on the basis of modern catastrophe theory applied to on-board intelligence systems of new generations. It is shown that system dynamics can be described by trajectories surrounding strange attractor in the evolution of the system under the influence of external disturbance. An algorithm monitoring emergency ship dynamics on waves is based on the results of the analysis.
